If you follow me on instagram you may have witnessed my slight obsession with dogs, in particular my own. To put it into perspective, I was introduced to someone the other day as the girl who posts about #basilandpickle on instagram. Crazy right?
I love my two adopted crazies, Basil yaps to me about his day when I get home from work, and Pickle, without fail will always bring a toy to show me the minute I step foot out of my car. They have such different and amazing personalities, everyone who meets them wants to be their best friend.
Add to that my healthy (maybe not) obsession with food, especially home cooked favourites (I’m looking at you, mom’s roast potatoes), I completely agree with Knorr’s latest campaign where they reckon the answer to the question “What’s the greatest flavour on earth?” is the Taste of Home.
Let me reminisce for a moment about my mom’s roast potatoes, pillowy soft on the inside, beautifully crisp on the outside, sprinkled with salt and a touch of fresh rosemary, I would be completely satisfied just with eating a plate of them for a meal. When combined with some roast chicken and rich gravy I’m instantly transported back to my childhood. I love that food can trigger memories like that.
That’s why I feel a bit like Carmen’s kindred spirit (she is the girl who looks after the Huskies in the video below)
She loves dogs (me too) and roast dinners (who doesn’t) and lives in the snow (I stood in the snow in Russia, does that count?).
She also loves her mom’s cooking and so do I (my mom’s, not hers :))
