The four letter F-Word. Fish, my nemesis, the food that makes me run screaming, clamping my mouth closed, in the opposite direction. Fish. That was what I had to cook with in Week 4 of the Pick ‘n Pay freshly blogged competition. So to say it was a challenge that put me way out of my comfort zone, is an understatement. But, I prevailed, and like a skilled fish mortician, I sliced those bad boys open,removed the backbone with the elegance and precision of a world class neurosurgeon, slammed them in some seasoned flour, and deep fried those pilchards until they were crispy and golden brown.
I served my new friends on a bed of veggie loaded egg fried rice that you wrap up in super bright purple cabbage leaf. Purple cabbage photographs well.
I ate mounds of the egg fried rice, but alas was still too scared to venture into touching the F-word with my tongue.
So the point of this story was too show off one of my favourite food photographs ever.0
